And then on a random night, he just grabbed me by the hair, and said, Jason. Food. And he kinda spoke properly since then. Like in full sentences and stuff. I think he just didn't want to speak with us, actually--

In short, literally no one in the Ghost Zone/Infinite Realms wants their mostly peaceful afterlife to be rocked by a certain Gotham rogue named Joker. Which, when he dies, is almost sure to happen because of whatever the hell was in that vat he dropped in included ectoplasm. So, yay, he’s also a little ghostly too, meaning he *is* pretty hard to kill. Unfortunately, there’s also a certain vigilante that is quite keen to murder him in recent years.

So now Danny has to keep the mass murderer trauma clown alive for as long as he possibly can while attempting to keep the Joker from. Well. Being the Joker.

Oh, and naturally, Danny got this assignment AFTER Joker got out of Arkham. Again. And entirely blew up the asylum. Time to join the Goonion, he is NOT doing this without getting PAID, thank you.

Shoko, who was always tired from working long and winding night shifts, thought that you must have been an angel in disguise when you had swung by with yet another helping of lunch.

This time it appeared to be even homemade, too. She simply couldn’t believe her eyes, staring at the bento. Her fingers traced along the curves of the container, clearing her throat before blinking back at you, staring at you in awe.

“I…” she started, though her voice was rough. She was so tired and hungry that even the concept of speaking was difficult.

You simply just smiled while returning her a warm look. “Do you like it? You said you missed eating things like this, didn’t you? Well, I usually pack my own lunches so I thought… why not include you this time?”

Shoko blinked and then regained her voice within a beat, “Shit, yeah, I mean I love it,” she replied at last, scolding herself internally for being crude. “You made this? For me?”

“Sure did!” you chirped back.

“You’re taking care of me…” she said next, letting the realisation wash over her as she recognised what you were actually doing for her. She’s been telling you how she barely has any energy for the work day, and you started doing this ever since. How… considerate, she thought. She gulped again, staring at you almost adoringly.

“Of course I am, silly,” you confirmed her findings, “you did bring me back from the dead, well, almost,” you half joked, remembering just how out of it you were from your last mission, “it’s the last I can do – I can’t thank you enough.”

You then abruptly turned around and were about to leave, but Shoko couldn’t just let you waltz out like that again. Within a flash, she quickly set down the bento on a nearby table before coiling her fingers around your wrist in a gentle tug.

“Wait—” she burst out, “—I have a rare weekend off,” she lied, deciding to somehow make this work whether the higher-ups approved of her request for time off or not, “there’s this place I know that I go to sometimes – to relax. They do all sorts of fun drinks, and the entertainment isn’t half bad. Let me pay you back for all of this? Please?”

You tilted your head off to the side at the sudden contact but then quickly relaxed, finding the gesture to be sweet. “Of course, Shoko! It’s a date. Text me the details?”

“A date…” she whispered out loud before letting go of your wrist and taking a step back, desperate to regain her composure. God. How long has it been since she felt like this? “I’ll text you on my next break,” she then added, already counting down the hours.

As the door swung shut, she just about fell on her behind from the nerves alone. For the first time in forever, she had something to look forward to that wasn’t work.

And god, she couldn’t wait.

Am a firm believer of Dusknoir being overtly aware of his massive fuckass hands around Ribbons/Aimilios post EP5/rekindling their relationship. But there is something so inherently sweet and funny about those three being at a comfortable/trusting point, where he can playfully yoink/grip(not too hard) and threaten them with damnation. for slightly pissing him off.

(What’s even better is that anyone else from afar would get rightfully worried, but Ribbons/Aimilios are just laughing their little asses off)

Your silent protagonist doesn't have to use sign language btw. They don't have to write things down, either. They don't have to use language at all. Not every single person who doesn't talk can use words the same as you, or use them at all, so your favorite silent character shouldn't have to use what you consider a grammatical language to communicate in your fanart and fics. AAC exists. Drawing exists. Gestures and body language exist. Btw.
